St. Mary School is financially independent from the Diocese of Oakland and operates as a 501 (c)(3) non profit organization.
We are grateful for the gifts of Financial Support and Involvement that ensure St. Mary School can continue to fulfill our mission.
While tuition covers the majority of the operating expenses, your gift means St. Mary School can offer an innovative and enriched education, and like most private schools, St. Mary School cannot operate on tuition alone. Our funding model combines tuition and charitable donations not only to balance our operating budget to support immediate needs and strategic initiatives, but also ensures the future health and well being of this institution.
Historically, St. Mary School has embraced this model of tuition + donations for three reasons:
1. It allows St. Mary School to maintain a healthy enrollment by keeping tuition as low as possible.
2. It enables families to receive a charitable tax deduction for a portion of the cost of their child’s education.
3. It provides funding for strategic infrastructure and learning environment improvements giving our students the opportunity to learn in an environment that is Collaborative, embraces Creativity, builds Communication and supports Critical thinking.
In addition to financial support, parent involvement is important to our mission. Parental involvement supports the many classroom activities, as well as ensures the tremendous success of the annual auction.
When parents give the gift of their time, they provide countless opportunities to the students of St. Mary School.
